Davlin Consulting is a boutique design and marketing firm with a sassy personal touch and fun and well-served clientèle. We are fully aware of the current state of our planet and its ecosystems. We strive to make our carbon footprint, thus yours, as small as possible.

Confucius once said: “Life is really simple, but we insist on making it more complicated.” We keep that in mind at Davlin Consulting. We understand that families, individuals, organizations and companies are all moving towards a greener approach – whether we do our best to decrease our paper use, drive bicycles instead of automobiles, or enjoy a Fair-Trade morning coffee.

No Office Means Low Carbon Footprint

We do not have a physical location. Our employees work from home, which means no fuels are used commuting and no extra energy is needed for the powering of an office. These factors also keep our overhead low, saving YOU money!

Besides lowering our carbon footprint, working from home gives our business increased productivity, reduced overhead costs, less turnover, happier employees and big advantages in recruiting while at the same time reducing our overhead and hiring costs.

The biggest benefactor: Our families! You may hear Annie or the dog in the background, but happy employees do better work. (And in case you wondered, the sign used on the left is a recycled campaign sign.)

 

A Greener Apple

Apple's computers and environmental practices surpass any other's. In mid-2006, Apple became the first company in the computer industry to completely eliminate CRTs, and they're only getting greener.

Apple takes a holistic view of recycling and waste minimization. We apply this philosophy from the outset, beginning in the design stage by creating compact, ultra-efficient products that use high-recycling-value materials wherever possible. We have instituted recycling programs in 95% of the countries where our products are sold — diverting over 83 million pounds of equipment from landfills since 1994.

Wind Powered Hosting

Our clients have the added peace of mind that the company that hosts their web sites is powered by 100% renewable wind energy. Every hosting plan we offer is covered under our carbon neutral green program, and at a price far less than you may have expected to pay.  Servers we utilize are 36% more efficient than standard servers and 100% wind powered! Renewable energy is used to both power and cool the servers via green -e certified Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) which are verified, tracked and monitored.

Paperless Office

You'll notice we'll always send correspondence electronically or via e-fax unless you ask us not to. On the rare occasion we have to use paper, we recycle notes sent home from school, or use the backs of junk mail.

Davlin Consulting uses technologies that make a paperless office possible.
By using an e-fax, items you fax us go directly to our email as an electronic .pdf. This allows us to file it electronically, and we never have to print it. No extra space to store items! Find more about our e-fax partner, TrustFax, here.

Our goals are simple: To sustain a comfortable but not excessive lifestyle for a small and loyal staff in a way that contributes to the betterment of the lives of our customers and the planet. Davlin Consulting was built from the ground up with cash. We've never borrowed money, and we never will. Not only is limiting our growth better for our families, being fiscally responsible is better for the economy AND our clients.

Kiva is about microfinance (small loans), not donations. You can go to Kiva’s website and lend to someone in the developing world who needs a loan for their business.

When the entrepreneur pays back their loan you get your money back. You can withdraw your funds or lend them to someone else. These are not donations, but small loans. Lending to somebody sends the message that you're treating him or her as an equal, someone who can participate with you in a business relationship. It's a really dignified way to interact with people.
